School History

In 1980 the Parish of Our Lady Help of Christians began under the guidance of Fr. John Readman. Our current parish priest is Fr John Allen

Don Bosco School began in 1982 with children who lived in the Narre Warren area transferring from St Michael's, Berwick.

Bishop Eric D'Arcy officially opened Don Bosco School, Narre Warren on Sunday 11th February 1982. This was achieved just over two years after the planning began for the first school in the Parish of Our Lady Help of Christians.

Sr Rosaleen McCaffrey was the first Principal followed by Mrs. Raylene Heathcote. Mrs Winifred Murphy began as Principal in the year 2000.

Don Bosco began with an enrolment of 131 children and 6 teaching staff. There were four permanent classrooms and two portables classrooms. Today we have 15 classrooms 395 children and 24 teaching staff. There have been two other schools opened in the parish in this time. These are Mary MacKillop School, Narre Warren North and Trinity School, Narre Warren South.

We welcome your family to our community and trust that the experiences shared by you, your child and the Don Bosco school community, as part of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, will be a rewarding aspect of your spiritual educational and family growth.
